2011 MLB Predictions

Baseball season starts tomorrow, so it is time to get some predictions on the record.

NL East Champ - Phillies - I know they have some injuries with Utley and Dominic Brown, but that pitching staff is just too good for them not to win the division.
NL Central Champ - Brewers - This is a crappy division, and it probably won't take 90 wins, to win it.  Adding Marcum and Greinke gives the Brewers enough pitching to pull it off.
NL West Champ - Giants - The 2010 World Series Champs still have the pitching they had last year, so they still win the division.
NL Wild Card - Rockies - Tulo and Car-Go will mash on offense and an improving pitching staff gets them into the playoffs.

National League Champion - Phillies - Too much pitching, and I think their health comes around by playoff time, giving them the edge over the Giants.

AL East Champ - Red Sox - They won 89 games last year with the injuries to Pedroia, Youkilis and Ellsbury.  Now they are healthy and added Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford to the lineup.
AL Central Champ - White Sox - Improved pitching and improved hitting, meanwhile the Twins lost their middle infield and four members of their bullpen.  Oh and Joe Mauer has already had shots in his knees.
AL West Champ - A's - They have a really underrated starting rotation and I just can't count on Josh Hamilton staying healthy (and keeping his nose clean) for another year.
AL Wild Card - Yankees - Too much offense to keep them out of the playoffs.

American League Champion - Red Sox - Their offense will be great, and call me crazy, but I can see Theo making a move for a starting pitcher this year to put them over the top.

World Series Champion - Phillies - I just think Halladay, Lee, Hamels, and Oswalt is too good of a rotation to not win it all, if they can stay healthy.

Now on to the award winnners...

NL MVP - Troy Tulowitzki - This is the year he is going to stay healthy and put up even bigger numbers than the last two years, while playing gold glove defense and leading his team to the playoffs.
NL Cy Young - Roy Halladay - There is no reason for me to believe that he can't do exactly what he did last year.
NL ROY - Brandon Belt - That is an amazing name for slugging first baseman.  So yeah, I'm going purely off name.  He has to be good.

AL MVP - Alex Rodriguez - He is totally healthy to start a season for the first time in three years, and has gotten down to 3% body fat.  A-Rod is gonna mash this year.
AL Cy Young - Jon Lester - Just feels like it is his year.  He has been steadily improving every year and his team winning around 100 games won't hurt him
AL ROY - Michael Pineda - The man affectionately known as Little Felix(even though he is 6'7" 260) in Seattle, will show people that the comparisons to King Felix are well deserved.
