That was the Bulls team that won 62 games this year. That was the Bulls team that has the MVP and the best defense in the league. That was the Bulls teams that I watched all year and thought could win the NBA championship.
For whatever reason the Bulls had just not looked the same in the playoffs this year. Maybe it was the pressure of the expectations of being the number one seed or maybe it was that D-Rose's ankle just wasn't quite right, whatever it was, they appear to be over it. The Bulls absolutely rolled last night and beat the Hawks 99-82 in Atlanta.
Oh, and Derrick's ankle? I think his 44 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists answered that question for us. I hadn't believed that Rose's ankle was totally healthy since his injury against the Pacers, but the way he was taking it to the hoop and initiating contact last night proved to me that the ankle is fine. So yeah, the MVP chants in Atlanta, were well deserved. Rose is healthy and the Bulls are back. Life is good. Bulls in 5.
